Taxes for ITIN Filers

If you do not have a Social Security number, you’ll need an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) to file.

If you are earning wages or income in the United States as a resident, a citizen, or a visitor, you have to pay income taxes. If you do not have a Social Security number, you’ll need an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) to file. The IRS does not share information about ITIN taxpayers with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
